When three people in one day identified me as a Cave Dweller, I decided I needed to do something about that. So, I did. I started a blog. Not everyone who lives alone is a Cave Dweller and not every Cave Dweller lives alone.
What, exactly, is a Cave Dweller?
Cave Dweller: A person who prefers not to socialize as a sport. Cave dwellers are caring people who appreciate the diversity and necessity of the internet and all of the wonders within, but choose not to socialize or participate extensively on social media websites.
Well, that might not be the Merriam Webster definition of a Cave Dweller, but it’s my definition and I’m sticking to it. I use social media; I pretty much live on the internet–or at least on my computer. I’m a writer, you see, with long days (usually about 6 AM to midnight) spent writing and reading and doing all the things necessary to throw myself out there. But at heart, I’m a Cave Dweller, happy to exist in my cave with coffee, Twizzlers, and a very patient and loving family who just happens to live far, far away. May the Force be with them–and you!
